Sarah Michelle Gellar pulls husband’s led on “learning to walk again” pics.
After 12 years of marriage, Sarah Michelle Gellar has no problem calling her hubby Freddie Prinze Jr. on his embellishments. The actor, 38, recently posted numerous pre-and-post-surgery selfies wearing a thick neck cast with dramatic captions like "learning to walk again" after a spinal procedure.
Though, his wife has a different story to tell. At the 4th Annual Santa's Secret Workshop at the Andaz Hotel in West Hollywood, Gellar, 37, set the record straight on her husband's condition. When asked how the father of her two children is recovering, she replied, "You mean ‘learning how to walk’?!" she said, laughing. "I’m not joking. Our mail woman -- god bless her heart -- was like, ‘I prayed for you Freddie and it worked, you’re walking’. He’s doing just fine. He did have some very serious surgery, there’s no question about that, but his 'learning how to walk again' has been greatly exaggerated."
The couple, got married in September 2002 and they share a daughter, Charlotte, 5, and son Rocky, 2. Now that her kids have grown up a little bit, they are able to enjoy the holidays with a new sense of meaning.
"They’re getting to the age where they understand the holidays aren't just about getting presents, that it’s so much about giving back and being appreciative for what they can do," Gellar tells Us. "We packed up food for SOVA this year, and it made them understand that not all kids have Thanksgiving food. So it’s been really special for me this year to merge my traditions which is gift giving and experiencing the holidays but also giving back."
