Jim Parsons was born on 24 March, 1973 in Houston, Texas. He is an American actor, known for the Big Bang Theory, where he appears as Sheldon Cooper. He was awarded several times for his role, including the Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Television Series Musical or Comedy and 4 Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series. His parents are Judy Ann (a teacher) and Milton Joseph. He has one sister, Julie Ann Parsons, a teacher. Parson decided he wanted to be an actor after playing a role in a school production of The Elephant's Child. At that time he was 6 years old. During his junior year in the Klein Oak High School, he had a role in Noises Off.
Parson made several television appearances while he worked in Off-Broadway productions, in New York. In 2003 he played a role of a man who was raised by wolves. He also had a recurring role in the Judging Amy, a television show. Jim Parson auditioned for 30 television pilots, but many of those series failed to find a television network that will support them! The Big Bang Theory, changed that. Although, Jim Parson don’t have anything in common with his character from the show, after reading a script, he felt that this is the right role for him.
