Cobie Smulders Promotes Avengers: Age of Ultron and Talks About Her Cancer Diagnosis
Cobie Smulders became a household name when she gained fame through her character on How I Met Your Mother. The 33 year old actress is a part of the Avengers franchise and is promoting the upsomincg film in the series, Avengers: The Age of Ultron.
During the promotion of her new about to be released film, Smulders revealed that she was actually diagnosed with ovarian cancer some time back. Smulders says that during that time she was in her mid-twenties and the prospect of having cancer seemed like as if her life has already ended. Smulders says that she soon realized that she has to defeat the disease and live life to its fullest.
The revelation was recently made by the actress during an interview with the Women’s Health Magazine. Robin Roberts, the host of Good Morning America immediately picked up Smulder’s story and asked her the reason behind such a delay in making her diagnosis and fight against cancer public. Smulder’s believes that the people need to know that through will power and determination, one can actually survive a deadly disease like cancer. As a part of the treatment process, Cobie Smulders underwent a few surgeries as both her ovaries as well as lymph nodes were affected by the cancer. Fortunately, her cancer went away and she was able to have a baby of her own, a daughter named Shaelyn, with her husband Taran Killam.
